Roger W.F. Skepple

Roger was born on the small West Indian island of Antigua. His parents, the late Adolphus Daniel Skepple and his widow Ineta Skepple, moved the family to Kingston Ontario Canada when he was only two and half years old. There he grew up and went to school.

Upon graduating from high school having majored in science and mathematics Roger decided to go to Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York, a one year program, before he would begin a degree in Electrical Engineering. While there he was called to the ministry and decided to attend Liberty University to train for the ministry.

Roger graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion with a major in Pastoral Ministry and a minor in Biblical Studies. After which he attended his Masters Degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1991, double majoring in New Testament Literature and Exegesis and Systematic Theology Studies. He began post-graduate work in the Doctor of Philosophy program at Dallas Theological Seminary in 1994 and continued in that program until he and his family, Teresa and their four children, relocated to Atlanta Georgia.

Before becoming the Senior Pastor of Berean Bible Baptist Church in May of 1998, Roger was active in ministry at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, where Roger was ordained for the ministry in 1991. Roger has experience in serving as an interim pastor and conference speaker, has served on several different levels of the ministry at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship throughout his eight years there, including responsibilities for adult ministries, such as Singles, Single Parents, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship's Lay Institute, etc., and completed his tenure at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship as the Associate Pastor of Christian Education (5 years), where Dr. Anthony T. Evans is the co-founder and senior pastor.



Patrick Perkins
Associate Pastor of Christian Education
Staff Elder

Pat Perkins was graciously saved before the foundations of the earth but he finally realized that when he was in high school. God has generously discipled him through the efforts of several wonderful Christian people, not the least of which were his parents. He attended school at Liberty University (B.S. in History), Lynchburg College (M.Ed. Administration), and Reformed Theological Seminary (M.A. Biblical Studies) resulting in an education which far outstripped his intelligence. The Lord has blessed Pat to minister among wonderful saints in Jackson, Mississippi; Budapest, Hungary; Forest, Virginia; and Duradeb, Sudan. He enjoys reading, writing, church, and baseball. The best parts about Pat are his wife, Pam, and their six children - Ryan, Briggi, Seth, Hannah, Emily, and Naomi.



Solomon Bibbs
Elder

Solomon E. Bibbs was born September 4, 1959 to Joseph and Mattie Bibbs. He was born and raised here in the city of Atlanta and after graduating from Northside High School, he attended Atlanta Area Technical School. As a youth growing up, he attended St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Solomon Randolph (his grandfather) and at the age of twelve, received the Lord Jesus as his Savior. There he served in the Sunday School Department as treasurer and secretary. Later he also served as a junior Trustee and on the Young Adult Usher Board.

While at Northside High School, he met the love of his life for the past 20 years, Mrs. Victoria A. Horton Bibbs, and to their union was born four children, Solomon Jr. (19), Leah (18), Stephen (10), and Victor (4). They joined Berean in August of 1989 and since then have served faithfully. Solomon served as a teacher in the Youth Fellowship and was elected to the Board of Deacons by the late Dr. Herman Conley in 1994 at the previous location on Campbellton Road before transitioning to the present structure.

After moving to the present location, Solomon was appointed as Sunday School Superintendent. There he served in the position until the new ministry structure was introduced. Now he is presently the Head of the Finance Committee. Solomon's wife serves as a Sunday School Teacher and in the Nursery, Toddlers Ministry and sings in the Adult Choir.



Anthony Dixon
Elder

Anthony D. Dixon first heard and understood the Gospel of Jesus Christ in September 1967 at Anniston High School, Anniston Alabama. He was converted some four (4) years later while studying architecture at Tuskegee Institute in October 1971. It was there that he became involved in the discipleship ministry of the Navigators and worked with this ministry throughout his college career. He was involved with leading Bible studies, prayer sessions, evangelism, and a workshop leader on campus and at regional conferences. Anthony became active as a Sunday school teacher and assisted with Chapel services, where he served as a Liturgist under the Chaplain for Tuskegee Institute. During the summer of 1973 he served as a summer missionary with the Voice of Calvary Ministries in Mendehall, Mississippi. In April 1977 Anthony moved to Atlanta, Georgia and was employed with H.J. Russell Construction Company. He has worked in various engineering and construction management positions over twenty-four (24) years.

Anthony continued to serve with the Navigators after college graduation leading bible studies in Atlanta at the colleges and universities of the AU Center as well as in the community until 1982. He became a member of Berean Bible Baptist Church in the summer of 1979 and has been active in several ministries at Berean. He has served as a leader for Wednesday Night prayer services, Sunday Morning Worship leader, Adult Sunday school teacher, and has been a leader/teacher in the Men's Ministry. He has also volunteered in both the nursery, and the kitchen, assisted with Counsel time for AWANA, built props for VBS and the Puppet Ministry and is presently responsible for teaching the New Members Class. Anthony served as an officer of the church and Chairman of the Board of Deacons and Trustees over 17 years. His present ministry focuses upon New Members Class and the Welcome Committee.



Don Ellis
Elder

Donald Ellis was born in Jamaica, West Indies and now resides in Marietta with his wife Vickie of over 24 years. They have been blessed with four children Rita 27, Yianni 23, Damaris 19, and Leighton 15. He was saved in June of 1977, and became a member of Berean that same year. He has served in several ministries within Berean beginning with singing in the adult choir for five years, working with the men's prison ministry for two years, taught in Junior Church for thirteen years, volunteered in the Teens Ministry for several years, was deacon elect for five years and has been commander with the AWANA children's ministry for over four years. In addition, he has served in Sunday school, vacation bible school, was a Boy Scout leader in the community and led a men's neighborhood bible study for several years.

A graduate of Southern Poly Technical University, Don has been employed with Lockeed Martin as an Engineer for over 18 years, and has been an entrepreneur in mechanical contracting (heating/Air Con.) for over 16 years.



Wallace Francis
Elder

Wallace Francis was born in Franklin, Louisiana. After high school he attended college at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1973 he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills to play professional football. As a rookie player he led by the American FOotball Conference in kickoff returns. In 1975 he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons where he led the team in receptions in 1978 & 1979 and was voted the Falcon's player of the year by his teammates in 1979.

Walace retired from football in 1982 to attend Bible School in Greenville, South Carolina. In 1985 Wallace began traveling as an Evangelist within the USA.

He joined Ambassadors for Christ International in 1990. In January 2001, Wallace was elected National Director of the U.S.A. Team. As director and chairman of the U.S.A. Ministry COuncil, he endeavors to maintain the ministry's vision, oversee expansion of the team and communicate the team's mission and purpose throughout the U.S.A.

Wallace and his wife Cheryl live in Douglassville, GA with their four children Brittany, Micha, Matthew and Carmen.



Brett Henry
Elder

Wallace Francis was born in Franklin, Louisiana. Brett Henry grew up in a church family environment, participating in most of the church's activities. He was never challenged about his relationship with Christ as a child, until one day a classmate in the 9th grade asked him if he was saved. Not really saying yes or no, he was urged to examine what it meant to be saved, even though he was active in the church as a young boy. At 13 he learned from readng the Bible that he was lost spiritually and through the scriptures he learned how he was saved because of Jesus Christ. From that day, he has ben walking with the Lord and has been active in the church with a purpose, unlike the dead works that characterized him as a young child.

Brett has been a member of Berean since the early 80s when he went to college and has been employed with Delta Airlines for the last 22 years. During that time, he has taken courses at Carver Bible College for further training in the Bible. He has been married for 19 years to Nicol Henry and they have two children, Nina and Nianna. Since he has been at Berean he has been on the usher board, deacon board, and youth Sunday School teacher and is presently servicing as the Director of Youth Ministries.



William Knox
Elder

Bro. Knox resides in Hiram Georgia with his wife of 24 years, Juanita and their two children, Donnetta, age 10 and David, age 8. The Knox Family joined Berean Bible Baptist Church in the fall of 1999 and completed their New Members Class on March 28, 1999.

Bro .Knox was ordained a Deacon in 1983, licensed to preach the gospel in 1984 at Salem Baptist Church of Atlanta Georgia. Bill was ordained a minister in April 1989 by the Second Baptist Church of College Park Georgia. Bill attended the Evangelical Institute of Greenville South Carolina from 1987 thru 1988. Bill served as pastor of Metropolitan Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist mission church in College Park Georgia, from October 1988 to December 1989.

Bro. Knox served as Assistant Pastor at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia working with the Nursing Home Ministry; Communion Sunday Home Visitation Ministry and The Homeless Shelter Ministry. While serving at Kennesaw Avenue Baptist Church as Associate Pastor, Bill was a member of the Cobb County Baptist Ministers Association and the Youth Fellowship Ministry of Marietta.

While serving at Berean Bible Baptist Church Bro. Knox known to most as Bill, has Co-Directed Vacation Bible School in 1999 and 2001. He presently teaches one of the adult Sunday School classes and heads up the church's Care Ministry.



James Marshall
Elder

James was born March 11, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Freddie and Mary Marshall. Due to his father's career in the military, James and his two brothers' childhood was marked by extensive travel abroad as well as within the U.S. Upon graduating from high school in 1967 in Killeen, Texas James joined the U.S. Navy where he served his country for two years. James started his career in law enforcement in 1975 as a police officer in Fayetteville, North Carolina where he served for 14 years until relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. James also egan his career in the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 1982 and retired after 24 years of service in December 2006. James is currently employed as a Senior Investigator Supervisor with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, Atlanta, Georgia. James holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice at Shaw University Raleigh, North Carolina.

James came to faith in Christ in the spring of 1986, a short time later he joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the adult usher board and helped lead and develop the junior usher group. James sang in the male chorus and also served in the men's ministry. After coming to Atlanta and visiting several churches in the area, James received an invitation from his first cousin, Marvin Henry, to visit Berean where he was then serving. James started attending several Monday Night Men's Bible Studies at Berean and in 1991 James felt the Lord's prompting to join this fellowship as a member. Over the past 17 years, James has grown in respect to salvation through God's grace and the teaching and preaching of the Word of God received while here at Berean Bible Baptist Church.

During his 17 years at Berean, James has taught Junior Sunday School, Ushered, served in the Outreach Ministry, served extensively in the Jail Ministry and is currently serving as Department Head of the Jail Ministry, member of the Care Ministry and some work with the Youth Ministry.

James is married to his faithful wife Gloria of 25 years and they have three children: Tyese, Demetria, James II (Sonny) along with three grandchildren: James, Kiara and Kayla. Gloria ministers through song in the choir, serves in the Care Ministry, the Pastor's Aid Committee, and assists as a Sunday School teacher with the Juniors.



Anthony Smith

Elder

Sumner Anthony Smith, saved (by God's Amazing Grace) in March 1979, has been a member of Berean Bible Baptist Church since January 1981. Prior to coming to Berean he was a member and pianist of Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church in Commerce, Ga.; Youth Choir Director and Steward of Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church in Doraville, Ga.; Youth choir director of Macedonia Baptist Church and Butler Street C.M.E. church, both in Atlanta. At Berean he has served as Adult Choir Director for 20 years, Deacon for 16 years, and new members class teacher for 14 years. During this time he has also participated in Sunday School, VBS, Men's Prison Ministry, Men's Prayer Fellowship, Nursing Home Ministry, Sunday Evening Bible Study, and Wednesday Night Prayer Service. He has been married to Barbara A. Mabry Smith for 29 Years. They have one son, Ryan E. Smith, 28, and one daughter, Rolanda L. Smith, 26, who are also members of Berean. Anthony, as he is known around Berean, has been a high school band director in the Atlanta Public Schools for 30 years.



Brian Williams

Elder

Brian Williams was born in Memphis, TN where he grew up. He relocated to Atlanta in January of 1987, after his marriage to Carla Allen on August 22, 1987. To their marriage have been born three girls, Gennis (10), Greer (8) and Gabrielle (5). Brian is presently employed at the Department of Treasury and is also attending Carver Bible College were he is working on his BA. While at Berean, he has served in the choir and the Outreach Ministry and he is presently involved in the Men and Women's Prison Ministry, as well as serving as the President of the Men's Ministry. Brian has even served as the janitor of the church.
